Beauty news: Maybelline Colossal Volum’ Cat Eyes Mascara

Girls, I heard about this mascara recently. The new ‘Cat Eyes’ edition of the wonderful Colossal Volum’ mascara claims to give you a more feline look than the original by accentuating the outer lashes.

What does Maybelline say?
“Discover the new Colossal Cat Eyes mascara from Volum’ Express for wide-eyed volume. The new Flare Brush stylises lashes to a full fan of wild volume – it’s savagely sexy! Flare out lashes for a bold Cat Eye look. Collagen enriched formula for Colossal feline volume and no clumps.”
I’m so curious to try it. Hope to be blown away by this mascara.
Maybelline Colossal Volum’ Mascara is available now, priced at £7.99 (but currently £2 off in Superdrug!)

Chanel World launches in Harrods

I was on the tube today on my way back home when a big Chanel bag picture on the newspaper caught my attention. I was impressed and amazed with the news. The first thought which crossed my mind was that I had to share the news with you. So here I am.

Today, Chanel unveiled the transformed facade at Harrods in Central London. The redesigned show windows connect Karl Lagerfeld’s Fall-Winter collection with light touches of French fairy tales. It’s the first time Harrods has given over all of its most valuable, street-facing displays to a single brand. The luxury brand has taken over the famous department store and a visit there may be fully packed with good surprises.

Shoppers can also visit a one-off exhibition, called Une Promenade, on the third floor where, behind a curtain of pearl beads, they will find an enchanted garden (last seen at the Chanel spring/summer fashion show), a 2.55 exhibition showcasing the work that goes into making one of the legendary quilted handbags, a display of haute couture gowns in a replica of Coco’s apartment and an ode to the iconic Chanel No 5 perfume bottle. Une Promenade is on view for three weeks from Tuesday, September 6.

OMG! This is heaven. I will be moving home this saturday which means a hectic weekend. Hope I can manage time to visit Harrods ASAP, cos I can’t wait. 😉

Some pics from Porto

Early this month, I spent a couple of days in Porto (Portugal) with my hubby and his mum. It was sooo relaxing and a perfect choice for sure.  The weather was really nice, breezy and sunny mostly. In fact the weather is one of the reasons the country is so popular with visitors. The Portuguese are a warm and friendly people who offer a genuine welcome to visitors. Portuguese cuisine is absolutely amazing at purse-friendly prices. Fresh cod or salted (bacalhau seco) is the most popular fish chosen across the country.  When visiting Porto, the best places to eat are often the humble small restaurant.  For a more authentic experience eat where the locals eat. Portuguese influence on Brazilian cooking is easily noticeable and I couldn’t resist so many delicious options. We had a great time in the city and enjoyed ourselves a lot. I highly recommend this city for holidays or even short breaks. 😉

Today Porto is the second largest city in Portugal and the centre of the largest most densely populated urban areas in the Northwest of the Iberian Peninsula

Don’t miss the Ribeira do Porto, the cluster of buildings, smoky bars and seafood restaurants along the waterfront.

Ponte de D. Luis, the city’s emblematic iron bridge, built by a disciple of the famous Eiffel.

12th century Cathedral or Se. Huge cathedral founded in the 12th century but extensively altered in the 18th.

Avenida dos Aliados. The Avenida dos Aliados is an important thoroughfare and definitely a little Parisian in its style and appearance.

Rua Santa Catarina is a major pesdestrian street in Porto.

With origins dating back to the eighteenth century, the University of Porto is a state university created the 22nd March 1911. The University of Porto is the largest university in Portugal and one of the most prestigious teaching and research institutions in the country.

The Café Majestic was previously called the Café Élite. It opened during the Belle Époque era when cafés were truly the domain of the bourgeoisie and the café’s clients were mostly intellectuals, artists, writers or high society ladies who would stop by for tea or ice cream. And here is a little Harry Potter trivia – J.K. Rowling, who lived in Porto in the past, spent many days here writing her first Harry Potter book “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”.

me at Café Majestic

me & my hubby Giovanni at Croft Port Wine Lodge. The House of Croft was founded over three hundred years ago. In Croft’s magnificent wine cellars, professional and highly educational tours take place all year round, seven days a week. So you can enjoy a free visit and tasting (of two of Croft’s Ports).

The Douro is one of the major rivers of the Iberian Peninsula.

Enjoy a ride on the very vintage tram. The tram system of Porto currently has three regular routes and one tourist route. All are heritage tram routes, as they use vintage tramcars exclusively.

me & my hubby. Take a tour of the city with City Sightseeing Porto and you will see all the things to do and see there. There are 2 routes: the Red Route (90 minutes) and Blue Route (60 minutes). Ticket is priced at 13 € (adult) and valid for 48h. It’s worth.

One of my fave pics, the lighthouse at Douro’s river mouth.  So nostalgic. Loved it.

Trip to Portugal

Guys, I’ve been away for nearly 2 weeks but happily I’m back. Sorry about the posts break. Pics from Portugal are coming up soon!! 😉

Celebs love high street!! – Part I

Celebrities can’t get enough of the British high street. Consumers love stealing the styles of their favourite stars – and it’s much easier (and inspiring) on the bank balance when they wear high street clothes 😉
